Going Viral is Fun But Also Really Intimidating

Thanks to Jezebel for posting my flowchart! I didn’t know I’d get my ten minutes of fame so early in my blogging career. You might be surprised to learn that I haven’t had the highest stat history since my blog has only been live for about a week.

My page views have been something like this:

  • May 11: 1 view
  • May 12: 16 views
  • May 13: 29 views
  • May 14: 4 views
  • May 15: 3 views (Blood Unicorn Makeovers was not the hit I thought it was going to be)
  • May 16: 95 views (I was really happy about getting these 95 views)
  • May 17: 25 views (Here I was really sad because it dropped)
  • May 18: 55 views (Now encouraged because at least it went up again)
  • May 19: 6,491 views and counting (if I thought I was sad going from 95 views to 25 views, I’m really going to be depressed if I drop from 6,491 views to 10)

I guess it’s a good thing that, based off of my flowchart, I won’t be raptured. It would suck to go viral only to leave and lose all my hard blogging work. I wonder what kind of Internet connection Heaven has.

P.S. It’s actually a bit difficult to think about what to post next. It’s hard to top a Rapture Flowchart. I hope I don’t disappoint you all when I write about something less exciting like how my cat Wizard unlocked my iPhone and used the Voice Command to call my friend. I mean, Wizard barely knows him, it was just so weird.

Your blogs are good. I don’t think you will have anything to worry about. Unless the rapture actually happens.

  2. Alanna Coca says:

The rapture flowchart brought me here, but your other posts made me an rss subscriber. Love.

  3. SimonB says:

    All looks good so far.

Added you to my regular blog list.

  4. Mike B says:

Congrats on the popular post! I shared it on Facebook, and I know at least 1 other friend who has done so as well.

  5. Really found your blog amusing. Lifted me up.
    Cheers to your work!

You have made me ROLFMAO with your chart and this follow up.
Congrats on going viral! I re-posted this to my FB wall as well and I see it is already being copied and forwarded.

perhaps blog next about the AfterParty… you can start writing it at 6:01pm tomorrow.
I (foolishly) joined the ‘looting party’ on FB just b/c it was so silly, but one of your commentors yesterday stated “after party”… so perhaps you should create an AfterParty group on FB and here. 😉

I’ll be rockin’ it with ya tomorrow! til then… party like it’s Judgement Day and you’re gonna be Left Behind

I added you to my feed too! You’re very funny.

  9. Nina says:

So happy you went viral! Otherwise I may have never found a spot with both Peas and Cougars in it’s title 🙂

  10. Tania says:

Looks like I won’t be raptured so I might as well read your blog. : )

  11. Gary says:

You also appear on FARK.COM prepare for the deluge 🙂

  12. Hollie says:

I’m curious how you came up with your blog title? I *may* be considered a cougar in some circles. Maybe you could create a flowchart about cougars!

A friend shared the Rapture Flowchart on facebook, and that hilarious-ness brought me here, so I will be back!

  13. gabrielaa. says:

ROFL / what I was going to say has already been said (including the cougar part) /
so will add you to my favorites list & make a point of visiting you often so your views stay up

  17. Marc says:

Unfortunately i seem to have been left behind but someone i know was raptured on 11th may.

  18. Scott says:

The ancient mayans predicted that the world would end in 2012. This is the same year as the UK gets the olympic games. Is it a joke?

  19. In one week, you outranked my accumulated stats for my first four months of blogging! Clearly, I need to be funnier and/or to figure out how to create flow charts.

I’m responsible for at least 300 reposts, so good ‘on ya, mate. A thoroughly entertaining debut.

I came here from Regretsy; a to your flow chart was posted in the comments to today’s post. That won’t get you as many hits as Fark, but it’ll get you a bunch. And just think about Regretsy — within two weeks of going live, that blog was getting many, many thousands of hits. I hope you have lots of bandwidth! 🙂 Another future regular reader here — love your cartoons and flow charts! And your text entries are fun, too. (I trust your neighbors aren’t dead?)
